Last week I attended the SRA International Conference, Managing the Legal and Regulatory Landscape, in Washington D.C.. If you are looking for education and networking opportunities, I highly recommend this one. The relatively small forum in the export controls session provided an excellent environment for group discussion and sharing of ideas. The panel discussions and keynote speakers brought together unique perspectives from universities, government, subject matter experts, and industry. One key take away is that export controls officers must understand the organization’s tolerance for risk in order to build an effective compliance program.
